Green juice, orange & yellow watermelon garnish | Helianthus annuus (dwarf sunflower)

The first market for the new year started slowly for me. So slow that it even attracted a sympathy buy from a fellow stallholder early on! Ahh, the bloody sympathy purchase… To be fair, I’ve been on the other side of the said purchase before. The beautiful thing with the people involved in the farmers market community is that we all want to see each other do well. It’s lovely to be a part of.

Did the support help? Not sure if it was coincidence or not, but it certainly led to a steady stream of customers which peaked mid-morning. The support from friends was the highlight of the day. Unfortunately, the usually trusty MOD cold press juicer overheated during the peak period, which cooled sales right down!

The takeaway? Probably time to invest in a commercial juicer…
